…a Tour of Israel is a Trip of a Lifetime

“Trip of a lifetime” is a cliche that gets used way too often in the travel industry, but Israel is truly unique and its impact on people deeper and more long-lasting than any other place we’ve taken people.

Darla has been leading groups to Israel almost every year since 1996 and there has yet to be a trip where there wasn’t some concern before going about tensions in Israel or the Middle East but once there groups never thought about it. Life in Israel was going on as usual.

People often say they are waiting for the “right time” but often health or personal issues get in their way. If we’ve learned anything over the years, it’s to go to Israel when you can.

We have an opportunity to take a group to Israel in November due to another group’s cancellation. We took our own advice and decided to offer this trip because we believe now is as good an opportunity to travel to Israel as we’ve had in the last 3 years. We’re excited that Shmulik Eitan, our long time Israeli guide is available to lead us and Jerry will be adding Biblical commentary along the way. We also expect to have extra time at many of the sites to learn, reflect, meditate and pray more than on a traditional trip when our group is larger and the sites more crowded.

Here are some other reasons to consider going now:

  • Israel has been quiet for 5 months.

  • Groups are going to Israel right now.

  • US airlines (United & Delta) are again flying to Israel

  • All sites we want to visit are open.

  • No crowds. There will be fewer groups than usual.

  • With fewer groups, it will allow us more time at each site.

  • Departing so soon, gives us a better feel for current conditions.

  • We only need a group of 20 for this trip.

Darla will never forget the warm welcome she and her group received in 2004 when she led one of the first groups to return to Israel after two years of uprisings when Intifada 2 kept groups from traveling there. We will be showing our support for the people of Israel by our willingness to return.. 

There are no guarantees wherever we go and we cannot promise that this trip will be without disruptions, but we can guarantee the stories in the Bible will come alive and feel like they’ve jumped off the page. You will never read your Bible the same way, nor hear a sermon or read the news about Israel the same way again.

It’s an awesome experience…

  • To walk up the steps where Jesus walked as He entered the Temple in Jerusalem

  • To sit on the Mount of Beatitudes where Jesus taught the Sermon on the Mount overlooking the Sea of Galilee

  • To imagine the young boy as he watched Jesus take his two fish and five loaves of bread and feed more than 5,000 people

  • To take a boat ride across the Sea of Galilee and reflect on how the disciples must have felt as a storm rose on those same waters

  • To stand on the Mount of Olives where Jesus prayed in the Garden of Gethsemane and later ascended to the heavens
